Following last year’s sold-out success, the organizers of the NYC brewers Pro-Am (formerly the NY Pro-Am Brew P.I.T.) decided to up the game and have the professional brewers meet with the amateur brewers and create a recipe to brew together. Those 5 collaboration beers will be served alongside an offering from the brewer as well as one from the homebrewer for a total of 15 beers. The event will take place at Covenhoven (located at 730 Classon Avenue in Brooklyn, NY) on June 27th. There will be 2 tasting sessions:
Session 1: 1pm-3pm
Session 2: 3:30pm-5:30pm
Participating professional brewers include Finback Brewery (Queens), Greenpoint Beer and Ale Co.(Brooklyn), Other Half (Brooklyn), Rockaway Brewing Company (Queens), and Sixpoint Brewery(Brooklyn). Home brewers include Glen Cupples, Jason Gers, Katie Sloan, Simon Tepas, and Justin Wilson.
Audience Choice: Ticketholders will vote for their favorite collaboration beer for the Audience Choice Award. The beer chosen among them will be brewed at the winning brewery’s system and released for sale to the public.
Each ticketholder gets a pretzel from local Pelzer’s Pretzels and a souvenir tasting glass commemorating the event. Covenhoven’s 16 taps and extensive bottles and cans will be available for purchase during the event. The event is proudly sponsored by and co-produced by Bitter & Esters (www.bitterandesters.com) and Brew To Share (www.brewtoshare.com).
Tickets are $35 at the door or $30 in advance at: http://nycbrewerspro-am.brownpapertickets.com.
